in the pre dawning of my teenage years around age 9 or 10, I was a BIG BIG on chopsticks...
acc to ye olde GOOGLE BABA Chopsticks are shaped pairs of equal-length sticks that have been used as kitchen and eating utensils in virtually all of East Asia for over four millennia.
NOW, since I am a resident of South Asia and the period was pre-tech in my hands. I found about these sticks in this restaurant our family used to go to called 'HongKong' (I knoW)
anyways!! this is also where I learned about Chinese Zodiac signs (I am a Rabbit)
sOO I dont really remember how I came upon them because the common cutlery they used to have in this private section we used to go to was fork and spoon... but maybe it as my dad using these sticks one outing that made me want to try and learn the art...
and after that, I used to ask someone to tell the waiter to get me chopsticks (cuz me shy!) and then I used to take my time with them being the still eating person with everyone waiting for me so we could leave and since the said place was 2 hours away from home and it was night I really had to finish eating... and that is when I used to discard them and use trustworthy fork to eat the remains!!
but then one fine day... (i dont necessarily remember when) but i wanted to have maggi with them (for Non-Indians reading this maggi is the Indian version of ramen) and there is this tilli vala jhadu in the house (hardstick broom~ google for better results) and it saved the day...
i broke the top part of two of them equally ... Washed them! cuZ HYGINE!!
and ate the noodles!! no idea how long this went for but then one fine day my G'Ma brought for me an entire pack of authentic chopsticks!!
and that is how life got sorted!!
